Baxter’s North Cove manufacturing plant in Marion, North Carolina, was significantly impacted by the rain and storm surge from Hurricane Helene. A collapsed bridge and flooding in the surrounding area are also impeding access to the plant. The plant is temporarily closed for production.
The Georgia Fire Academy is hosting the course Youth Firesetting Interviewing and Educational Interventions on December 3 and 4, 2024. | We just received a message from the North Carolina State Fire Marshals office, expressing appreciation and are overwhelmed with thanks, and that they currently have enough equipment to share and help numerous fire departments back up and running. Acclaimed volunteer firefighter and EMS documentary Odd Hours, No Pay, Cool Hat is hitting TVs across the nation this fall. PBS stations will air the movie in September and October commemorating 9/11, October’s National Fire Prevention Month, and National First Responders Day (Oct 28).
Recognize Fallen Firefighters - Submit Information for the Annual Memorial Service. Each year as part of the Georgia Fire Service Conference, firefighters who passed away during the previous year are recognized at the annual Memorial Service, scheduled this year for Thursday, November 14th at 12:30 p.m.
