To be eligible, a firefighter must be a volunteer and have proof of certification. In addition, they must provide the DDS “ Letter of Eligibility for Volunteer Firefighters ”. This document should be filled out and printed on company letterhead by the Chief Operating Officer of the entity that operates the fire department.
