Fire Service Leaders.
The Georgia Fire Academy is proud to announce the first offering of our new course; Introduction to Community Risk Reduction. This is a new 8-hour course that is being offered on May 5, 2023, at the GPSTC Forsyth Campus.
Introduction to Community Risk Reduction (CRR) is a one-day course that is intended to provide a basic understanding of Community Risk Reduction, how to evaluate the risks and hazards that exist in a community, and create successful CRR initiatives in any community. The students will be introduced to evaluation concepts as well as steps to creating an organizational culture that embraces CRR.
The expected outcome of this course is to augment the skills and knowledge of students to promote a change in culture for community risk reduction programs. The benefit of students embracing this need to act will potentially result in a reduction of injuries, deaths, and property loss, thus reducing civilian fire fatalities and potentially reducing the number of Line of Duty Deaths of emergency personnel.
