Fire Service Leaders, 

 

The Georgia Fire Academy is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a NFA Direct Delivery of the course "Youth Firesetting Interviewing and Educational Intervention Strategies" on April 15-16, 2025.

 

This two-day course is designed to equip participants with the skills needed to conduct interviews/screenings and develop educational intervention programs for youth displaying fire misuse behaviors. The course will also cover how to implement these strategies to effectively address the needs of both the youth and their families.

 

The target audience for this course includes individuals with responsibilities related to youth firesetting intervention programs within their agency or community. We encourage mental and behavioral health professionals, social services staff, law enforcement, juvenile justice and probation personnel, fire investigators, and healthcare professionals to attend.

 

The course will be held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center on April 15th and 16th, 2025. Please use the following link to register:

The NVFC is pleased to announce that the application period for the 2025 MSA and DuPont’s Globe Gear Giveaway is now open. A total of 52 sets of Globe® turnout gear and 52 MSA Cairns® helmets will be awarded to 13 volunteer fire departments in need (four sets of gear and four helmets per department). The first 500 applicants will also receive a complimentary NVFC membership, courtesy of MSA. Attached is a press release – please help us get the word out to your audience.
